Mother Sharmila Tagore and the other women in Saif Ali Khan’s life, pray for his health.

Saif Ali Khan’s sudden switch of health, leading to severe chest pain and urgent admission to the ICU of Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai on Sunday evening, has left his family in shock.

And if mother Sharmila Tagore is to be believed, it is just not his crazy lifestyle and round-the-clock shoots that did him in, but Saif’s smoking habit too.

She said, sounding angry at her son, “He smokes a lot and has to stop now! I am sure the doctors will tell him so.” According to Sharmila, chest pains run in the family. “Saif’s father has it and his grandfather too suffered from it. I hope Saif understands the repercussions and takes care now,” she added.

A disturbed Soha, Saif’s sister, who immediately rushed to the hospital to be with her Saif bhaijaan, said from his bedside: “He gave us the scare of lifetime. I don’t know how we all went through those terrible moments. It was really scary. But Inshaallah, everything will be fine.”

“Bhai really scared us. All the tests have been done. He has been spending a lot of time with his children now. Though the kids are clueless about what has happened, but they now know that their dad is fine,” says sister Saba.

“Bhai’s illness has not just brought the family together, but also most of our friends. I can’t believe the amount of well-wishers Bhai has,” she adds.
